The Kids' Place first opened in West Springfield Massachusetts in 1982 with a goal to
provide quality child care services that were based in sound
educational philosophies.
Teacher selection, training, and curriculum planning are designed to create a warm,
nurturing environment, where children are
accepted for the unique individuals they are,
and to challenge them to develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Since 1982, The Kids' Place has grown to include eight locations throughout western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Our staff is our most important resource in the success of The Kids' Place, both in the past and moving into the future. Many of our policies and practices have been a result of staff collaboration at all levels. We welcome suggestions from parents and ask them to formally evaluate the program twice yearly. To keep parents informed of what is happening at the center, a monthly newsletter is distributed, which includes the themes for the month, and examples of upcoming activities and field trips or visitors. The newsletter also contains an article called "Ages & Stages," focusing each month on a particular area of child development. |
